"Don't Question our Government" Say's The BBC !

Matthew Price

These two Interviews are just typical of the standard Interview we get in Jersey, by the world renowned BBC. OK the Reporter is only a Local Hack but he is Radio Jersey's Boss.

I've been getting comments about the style of reporting on our Local Radio Station, about the story that has been breaking in the last couple of weeks. Which has been about the Ex Home Affairs Minister "Andrew Lewis", misleading the States of Jersey in an "In Camera Debate" that happened back on the 8th of December 2008. In which he was telling the States the reasons why he had suspended the Police Chief.

So not exactly a minor story !

But all the BBC can see is that the Report was Leaked to someone that runs a Blog !

Or are they told what angle to go ?

But remember this is the BBC !

So now this week we had two stories early in the morning so if you did not here them then you probably  wont here them. But I did & couldn't believe the way that the Boss of BBC Radio Jersey, Matthew Price was interviewing these people who sounded a lot more intelligent then him. These interviews couldn't of been done better by a Government Aid.

So Don't say anything against our Government, because you'll get the BBC treatment of Ridicule, Contempt  of your profession & smugness.

People are asking were's Roger Barra gone, well he's a bit better. But he's probably had enough of getting told how to do his JOB by our States.

See what you think, its not just me because people commented on my Blog this morning about it.

This Interview was yesterday 17/07/12. around 07.25 Jim Diamond saying he got it Right on the costs of taking on  the British Government over LVCR.

This Interview was this morning 18/07/12. around 08.22. Tim Jones talking about Vulture Funds & Jersey letting it happen!

Surely this is not right. Our Ministers don't get this kind of grilling.

Then towards the end of yesterdays program, after not one person on with the opposite view to his own. He brings on a Family Friend to get some Self Praise. Just Cringe Worthy to the point of being SICK. You just couldn't make it up.

TheJerseyWay would like to Credit & Thank BBC Radio Jersey for making these recording's posible.

Thank you for recording this for posterity. This is why your blog is so important. It is odd that BBC Jersey are not aware of the kind of risk they are taking with the reputation of their parent offices and international image. This is exactly what the university level "Journalism School" education process uses as an example of third world dictatorship propaganda, but no example should be more shocking to investigative journalists worldwide than the BBC Jersey interview concerning the leak of government lies to Rico Sorda. That recording, from your previous blog post, is a stand-alone testimony to corruption of Jersey's BBC. I have retained copies for use in eliciting outside journalist opinion.

Again, it's all about wonderful Jersey Greed.

I am thoroughly disgusted at Matthew Price's ill thought out defending of the indefensible.

The creature is inhuman !!!

He should offer to go to the Congo for 6 months to experience "Vulture Fund Economics" first hand, and send his report back to the BBC.

If anyone reading this knows him -
Please issue that challenge to him.

Reply on-air - If you dare you creep.

Hi Anon.

Thank you. As we say more & More "you just couldn't make it up"

You think you can trust the BBC but for the last 4 years has shown what they are all about. Money off the State, nice invites to parties on luxury boats or Houses.

Don't rock the boat & people will forget.

But along comes BLOGING. They just do not know how to handle Blogs. They talk about Blogers on air like we are the Sh*t of the universe. But Blogers have put out evidence & facts of Child Abuse & Corruption in this Island.

We need Help in stopping it because all that has been done & Published on Line they are still getting away with it.

Have you read http://voiceforchildren.blogspot.com/2012/07/leah-mcgrath-goodman-banned-from-uk-and.html HERE

Hi

I was just wondering did I need to Credit the BBC on this one But I Forget, I got told I had too. Or I was not aloud to publish anything that they send out.

Have to find the Audio of Matthew Price's Friend that he so kindly let on to say a few words towards the end of his program today, Classic Just Classic. He wont let anyone on that Blogs or has the opposite view to him, but he has time for someone that wants to praise him. SAD Just Sad.

The Jersey State Media don't deserve any professional respect and whatever they say about you and other bloggers only makes themselves look foolish. The Guardian gave high praise and full credit to a couple of Jersey blogs which have earned every bit of that praise. Outside Jersey, good internet based reporting is judged on merit, not affiliation. Whether based on-line or in print or on the air, any real journalist worthy of that title would spit on the BBC Jersey for reaching all new lows in State supportive groveling.

A typical example of the BBC not allowing balance to its PROPAGANDA

M Price has a bee up his backside about setting an example of how he wishes we'd all speak. He takes pedantry to a whole new level.

Every time I hear him say "about which..." instead of how 99.99% of the rest of the world forms sentences - I cringe. Is it really his place to try to 'educate' us - or is it time he accepted that the boat has sailed?

And why does he say "Hall-kett Place" instead of Hal-kett like everyone else?

Mr. Price sounded so desperate to defend Jersey he came over as pretty near to tears.

TJW,
I just saw this post by Boaty Boy on Planet Jersey and thought it was worth passing along to you. It is cut and pasted in full below.

"A private company purchased a Congo dept for $3 million dollars then takes the Congo ( a poor country ) to court for $100 million in Jersey's Royal Court, one of the very few jurisdictions to allow this sort of piracy. The Royal Court in Jersey said yes Congo must pay the Appeal Court in London said Jersey's Royal Court was wrong and quashed the big payday for the Vulture clipping it's wings.

Hear Tim Jones talking about why Vulture funds are wrong and basically banned as he runs rings in research and intellect around one of BBC Jersey's bosses Matthew Price, who correctly pointed out of if its money is stored here that doesn't mean its illegal, it's only business, yep at who's cost, do we actually know or care ?

This must be one of the most explicit and colourful example's showing BBC Jersey's biased interviewing, but not interviewing, more trying to win the argument - actually taking the States insular way of thinking trying to spin it, and putting it on radio.

Listen by using the link below, did BBC Jersey do the island proud by reflecting the views of the people or tow the line for the lawyers and Judiciary of the States ?

Thanks again to the excellent - thejerseyway - who record and archive, so we might listen again, and make up our own minds.

Can we collectively protest to the Director General of the BBC and request that channel islanders are not kept in the dark and fed lies and misdirection..and that this 'beige cardigan and tea and stickies ' kind of garbage is removed and we have a service that the BBC has held pride in world wide....?what say you bloggers

Anonymous said...

I think it would be more effective to protest the BBC Jersey bias and truth avoidance efforts by forming a group letter. We already know that Team Voice and others have relentlessly pursued this through BBC channels and their complaints have been largely ignored.

Bloggers could, of course, prepare a joint statement and letter of inquiry to BBC Head offices by providing the quotes from Guardian and various other outside mainstream media about BBC Jersey.

In addition to citing examples of questions NOT asked by BBC, including coverage from the recent Guardian articles and the excellent unanswered Guardian questions to Frank Walker, as leaked to VFC, I recall a good article was published somewhere by a former BBC Jersey journalist, explaining local media complicity and the Jersey Way. There are several other mainstream media complaints or criticisms of BBC Jersey that could be used to bring this to BBC's attention.

We all know they do not respect bloggers, hence the strategy of using msm examples. If a coalition of bloggers became involved in approaching the Beeb, they might have to be taken more seriously. This recording and a few others available thanks to TJW, would be useful to proving the outrageously unapologetic pro-oligarchy local BBC's presstitution.

Now reading Rico's full posting of the in camera debate on Graham Power's (first) suspension. Makes these media hacks seem all the more pathetic for ignoring the real stories in favour of placating the State.

New Way To Combat JERSEY CORRUPTION

Thanks to VFC, we now have the term presstitute for these state media hacks. It fits better than anything else.

What on earth is Price saying when he argues Vulture Fund legislation is being prioritized over Social legislation. This is simply untrue. There may be a waiting list for law drafting, but social legislation is way down the list and always has been. It’s financial legislation that gets prioritised. Note there was no redundancy legislation when Woolworths went down and the shop workers lost out.

Very hostile questioning and Price at his best.

The defensiveness is understandable given that Jersey is a Tax Have/Secrecy Jurisdition. The media locally are unable to acknowledge that and examine issues objectively. A criticism of Finance is a criticism of “Jersey” in their eyes. Actually Jersey is not the same as the Finance industry. This is media manipulation of public opinion. A goodly number of honest islanders are not necessarily associated with the activities of Finance. Remember Finance operates for the interests of the most wealthy individuals and corporations in the world. These are the 1%, or more likely 0.001%. Most of the workers in Finance are there because they need a job. There are no tax havens for the salary men and women in Jersey – its 20 means 20 and GST. Meanwhile corporations pay zero tax.

Thanks for highlighting the issue. Collectively we should be organising to improve standards at the BBC. Its time to get in outsiders and make sure there is a regular rotation to avoid people “going native”. It’s an understandable phenomena but not one that is acceptable in terms of reporting in a democratic society. More objectivity required on issues of Finance.

It is in fact becoming more difficult to defend the indefensible. Finance is just a word for the rich and privileged which islanders simply are not. They are paying taxes to maintain an island that provides facilities for Banks, bankers and their wealthy clients. Jersey has been captured economically and politically. The media plays its part in defending elite interests.

Somebody needs to tell Price to shut his mouth for more than a few seconds and stop his hostile obfuscatory interruptions.

Excerpts from his "interview" of Tim Jones follow that lay bear the "Jersey Way" attitude to morality, fairness and basic decency. He also demonstrates that he hasn't got a %$^$^ clue what economics is actually about!

MP It's a sound business move for them (the vulture funds)

MP are we in the business of legislating for morality in Jersey?

TJ this is legislating for justice

MP is justice different to morality, though?

TJ why should one vulture fund be allowed to ignore the debt relief given by other institutions and receive vastly amounts more money than they ever paid for a debt of the poorest country in the world?

MP That's economics isn't it?

TJ It's a a a form of economics - it's not the right form of economics

... all economics is about morality

MP I thought economics was about actually making money

TJ Well that's a morality. If you say economics is about making money then you're making a moral statement - if you think that the only thing about economics should be about making money. I think that it should be about ensuring everyone in the world has good and full lives; that there is a measure of equality between people.

MP Tim thank you very much indeed for sharing your views with us this morning

Although Matthew Price is clearly articulate and thinks fast, I couldn't help but be reminded of the way Beavis and Butthead used to confuse good intelligent decent folk with their unpleasant fuzzbrained B.S. objections.

I've sent in a number of complaints about BBC Jersey and each time, I'm very disappointed with their response. I'll gladly sign a collective petition about the bias and poor practice of BBC Jersey. Surely per head of population, the BBC complaints process must be processing more complaints about BBC Jersey than any other BBC service.

As for Matthew Price- ugg. My alarm goes off at 6.55a.m. and its always a disappointing start to the day when he comes on air. I play a game - how long can he last before he mentions his offspring? Try it youself- Its usually after about half an hour of his oppinion broadcasting. I've even heard him say that he knows he's unpopular. Wish he'd do something about it - like drop the know it all attitude for a start.

Thank you all for your comments, sorry I've been Late in publishing them but had a Computer problem. This Post has made it to No 9 in the Most Read Posts on hear. so its doing well. A lot of people have Listened to this Half Wit we have over here.

Matthew Price may actually ned to think more about his offspring. Anyone who has ever had a parent who made hard sacrifices for the sake of what is ethical, can understand why. I feel sorry for the children of presstitutes. They will have to live with their parents' ethical failures as a legacy to them. Yes, there are some values more important than greed and ill-gotten economic wealth.

Arguing about the ability of bloggers is just a diversionary tatic, the MSM do their best to deflect from the very fact, that the blogger's they appear to be attacking are telling the truth!!!

What they are really saying is "bloggers give you the facts we have to tow the party line".

Plainly obvious that the bbc is just a mouth piece for the establishment party of the states.
ctv is also in the same bed along with the jep. I am surprised that the staff are not on the states workers pension scheme.
