I which he had gone deeper into the reason's why, this came to a head because what ever the Scrutiny panel do or want they are stopped by red tape or Lie's. Then it gets to the House & it gets throne out. Which makes the hole process a waste of time.

Vote of Censure On The Chief Minister.

First I'll put up what Senator Ozouf said.

SOS. Save Our Senator's. Debacle.

I thought I’ll bring you the debate that happened this week; it was brought to the States by Deputy Carolyn Fiona Labey of Grouville. It was to reinstate 4 Senators that were demecratitly voted out of the next Election witch is in October. The Government Party want them back because they can see there grip on the House slipping. Now this has been voted on 4 times before & the States agreed to let go of the Senators in all of them, so they are in a panic.




It was one of those debates that you may think “I can’t be bovid to listen” but I just had a feeling that it could be interesting so I recorded it & I’m glad I did.



My view is that we need 1 class of member be it Deputy or Senator. We need to get the Connetable’s out or they can be in if they also run as a Deputy or Senator as well.

I also think the Bailiff should not sit in the States, the job of runing the States could be done by the Greffier.



Now I Know there is a lot to listen to but if you have an interest in our Island & you don’t get the chance to listen to them in the big house, just listen in stages come back & carry on were you left off. But it was one of the best debates.



First of all in the morning you had the feeling that it was going to win, “the whip would have been out to get every one in line” to get the 27 votes that would of got the 4 Senators back. Finished in an hour, But with a couple of long speeches it was running towards lunch time. I can here you say “So”. Well most of the Connetable’s were going be in the Royal court in the afternoon so the Debate would lose because nearly all of them would have followed Senator Ozouf’s lead.



So the games began first a Connetable, not sure witch one called a Closser Motion to try & finish it before lunch which just lost. Then we had Senator La Marquand best speech since he came into the States. By the way I did vote for him as a Senator, I think he has let me down since getting in with the way he has handled the Child Abuse Investigation. But he sertenly showed what he can do with passion & knowledge.



Then in the afternoon when you knew the connetable’s weren’t going to be back for a while. We were getting all the one’s that were not going to speek. Senator Ozouf & Senator Cohen going into the History of the Senator, all the way back if I can remember rightly to 1066!



Then they came back, the vote came & they LOST. 26 to 25 with 1 not voting!



I will put more up if people would like. But for now this is how it went.


First Deputy Labey, put's her Proposition.

Then we had Senator Breckon.








Then we had Connetable Gallichan, who is Chair of Privileges & Procedures Committee. Who came up in the first place of get rid of the Senator's.

Then we had a Connetable from a country parish trying to close the Debate before they go to Court in the Afternoon.




Finally for now, Senator La Marquand gives his best Speech.

“Will the Minister clarify how the Wiltshire investigation incurred expenses of £200,700 in staff costs; £92,000 in travel; £82,000 in hotel accommodation and £39,100 in subsistence; where were these expenses incurred (Jersey or elsewhere); what grade hotels were used; and to how many individuals do the travel, accommodation and subsistence figures relate?”

Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Ridgway

Jersey's lieutenant governor has told the States that politicians lost sight of the needs of the victims in the historic abuse inquiry.




Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Ridgway gave a final address to the States.



The speech was only the second time he has addressed the States Chamber, the first was when he arrived in the island in 2006.



He was retiring on Thursday after five years in office and is moving to Devon with his wife Lady Valerie Ridgway.



'Low point'



 Sir Andrew revealed the historic abuse inquiry at Haut de la Garenne had been one of the most testing times during his time in office.



He said life in the island had reached a low point during that time.





Sir Andrew said the historic abuse inquiry was one of the most testing times during his five year term Sir Andrew told States members it had been a challenge to make sure that authorities in the UK understood what was actually going on as opposed to what they were reading about in the press.



He said: "When everyone should have been focused on that they were diverted away by these extraordinary allegations of mass murders and people attempting to exploit the situation for political purposes.



"I think that was a great shame because it distracted from the real effort, which was caring for the people who had been abused all those years ago."



Also during his farewell address, Sir Andrew said politicians should conduct themselves with more common courtesy in the States.

“Given that a hospital Consultant and 2 Middle Grade doctors have performed no clinical work since October 2006, December 2008, and August 2009 respectively, and that a fourth Middle Grade doctor is undertaking restricted duties only, will the Minister state how many different locum doctors have been employed to do the work of the 4 affected doctors, and what is the cost of these locums to date?”

The Minister for Home Affair's was in the hot seat last Tuesday, with Question's without notice. Here is a few of the Question 's that he was asked.

This Minister is out of Control.

Senator La Marquand should go & live down under, where Kangaroos are common place. His jumping around not doing interview's then does when told he is going to look stupid if he does not. That is what happened the other night, so he was forced to do the interview.

Here is another one of our Minister of Home Affair's speech's in the the States & you can tell he can't stand Mr Power & Mr Harper & he is going to do anything posible to blame these two for everything, even if he has to break the law & spend million's in made up report's, sorry "ourchap report's". You would think all this came out of Fiction book.
He was speaking on Deputy Tadier's Amendment on having a Committee of inquiry.





Just like to point out that if you did not catch it, you would have heard Senator La Marquand name Mr Harper, that alone is not alowed & Mr Harper's name should be taken off of Hansard. But he also called him an "incompetent maverick" I myself think the term sum's up the Senator quite well ! & you would have noticed that no one apart from Deputy Tadier pulled him about this. It is common that if one of the not in "the in crowd" say a member of the public's name they get shouted down by the Establishment. But not this time because they are all in the cover up & the fall guy's are Mr Power & Mr Harper.  The Truth needs to come out but it's not the Establishments side that the majority of this Island gets to hear. The Fight  goes on.
