Talkback on the 21/03/10.

Well at last I’ve upload the Audio from the Talkback program that went out on Sunday morning the 21/03/10.

We had Senator La Marquand & Deputy Le Herissier. Talking about the ACPO report that had been published on the Voice for Children & Stuart Syvret’s Blog site’s.

I’ve gone thought the recording & it’s too hard to say what should or what shouldn’t be cut from it, so I’ve uploaded the lot. I’ve divided it up into 15 part’s, So tonight I have put up the first 7 & I’ll put up the remaining 8 in the next few days.

It really is a must listen with old unflappable La Marquand losing it a few times & old Roy Le Herissier with so many splinter’s in his bun from sitting on the fence, he went home after this to make a dinning room table.

Rico your on the part 5 & VFC your on part 7.

Hope it’s going to be useful.

Part 1.

Part 2.

Part 3.

Part 4.

Part 5.

Part 6.

Part 7.

TheJerseyWay would like to Credit & Thank BBC Radio Jersey for making these recording's posible.

This is the first time that I have heard this fascinating Talk Back interview with Ian le Marquand and Roy le Herrisier. Right at the start RleH was reffered to as a fence sitter. Seems to me that thats its a little harsh to be calling him that, just because he accepts that there are two sides to every story. To me he comes across as being level headed and even handed, and dare i say it,so does ILM ! Never thought that I would allow such a thought to cross my mind.
ILM praised Warcup & Gradwell for voicing their concerns re Lenny Harper, and also for correcting wrong information given out to the media.
I would love to know what that alledgedly incorrect information was.
RleH remarked how confusing it was to have Lewis praising Harper, then shortly after, suspending him.
ILM gave his personal opinion that he felt that the suspension was rushed.
ILM stated that although he had a change over meeting with Lewis,he never took the opportunity of asking him for detail as to why he had suspended the Police Chief.
Pity!

ILM also remarked that the number of expected prosecutions was never realistic.
I wonder what he based that observation on !

TJW.

While listening to this Talkback programme I think it would be interesting to know that Ian Le Marquand is supposed to be "neutral", and he's fooling nobody.

So far Ian Le Marquand has rubbished just about any report that has been positive about Graham Power or Lenny Harper and has pinned all his hopes on the failed Wiltshire Report.

He is a disgrace to his former profession and to politics, and so history will record.

The "scandal" that Senator Le Marquand was referring to was reported on HERE

"The biggest tragedy was the false expectations that were raised" ILM

Yes, I would have to agree, especially when a certain high profile member of the establishment tell's a certain Advocate that "don't worry, there will be no prosecutions"....

Thanks for the memories TJW, top notch work :)

At the end of part 7 very clever(?)
of Cristy to put Roy on first to answer Neil's question, so that ILM is cut short by the news!?

Well done TJW, looking forward to the next uncomfortable listening instalment.

Hi Ian.

I was going to put them up tomorrow anyway. Because next week is going to be interesting.

On Monday (28th March) the UK Privy Council will announce their verdict on whether Judge Sir Richard Tucker was right to allow illegally obtained evidence to convict Warren and his gang in Jersey.

Then on Tuesday (29th March) we have the States back in sesession with that 2 hour comedy farce, which is when we are surpost to get truthfull answers. so I should have some interesting recording's next week.

This is one question I & many more people would like to know the answer to !

11. Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Minister for Home Affairs –

“Will the Minister confirm whether he was ever advised by the Chief Minister that the former Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police had requested, on 3rd April 2010, that his response to the Wiltshire Report should be published?”

Ow & by the way I am open for request's, if people can remenber some interesting things that may of happened in the States in the last 2 year's, I will see if I've got it & put it up.

I would need a date & if possible times.
