Question 2. From 09/10/12.

Simon Crowcroft. Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee.

Didn't put this Question up because of someone at the BBC pressing a button, so I got music.
This does  happen now & again, which is two many times, this wouldn't happen else where that's for shore

2.  Deputy R.G. Le Hérissier of St. Saviour will ask the following question of the Chairman of
Privileges and Procedures Committee –

“Could the Chairman state when the Electoral Commission and the Privileges and Procedures
Committee (PPC) Sub Panel on the Machinery of Government are scheduled to present their
reports and what steps, if any, have been taken by PPC to ensure that the proposals relate to each
other?”

The Jersey Bus Strike.

I'm not a Union Fan AT All & when I heard about what they are earning, I was a bit up set (too put it politely). But after hearing some other points of there contracts that are not being reported about, ie losing the time that they have worked as a bus driver for Jersey Bus & Connex. So without to finer point, so they can be sacked easer.

Are the States tiring to kill the Unions by using a British Company, This getting rid of the driver's history & they all need to do a interview. Means that CT Plus can just say to the Union top dogs "sorry you do not meet our levels" or something like that.

Right here is the Ministers Statement in Full,

Next the Questions on the Statement.

Now we had Deputy Southern with a Urgent Question.

Now this Morning we had Mr Chris Lewis From Tantivy on  the Radio. He says that Tantivy as Jersey Bus bided against CTPlus for the contract, but they priced for the contract with all the employers terms & conditions included, So he is a bit annoyed that CTPlus won the Contract without them.

So hear we go again, just another day in little old Jersey that does NOT add up.

Who Said if it Smells fishy don't touch it!!

Why are two company's biding for the same thing but one company has different terms!!!!!!!!

Jimmy Savile visited the Care Homes in Jersey many times, so who knew over here what he was getting up too. Did the BBC know?

Questions with out Answers. 09/10/12.

A Man I think that is out of his Depth.

1.  Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Chief Minister –

“What consideration, if any, was given to mirroring the key priorities of the United Kingdom’s Justice Ministry to ‘uphold people's civil liberties’ and ‘increase confidence in the justice system’ when the Ministerial system of government was adopted and what action, if any, is now being taken to protect local people against abuse of the law through the existing system?”

Was going to put up Question 2 but some clever person at the BBC pushed a button that put them playing records instead of the States?

10.  Deputy M. Tadier of St. Brelade will ask the following question of the Chief Minister–

“Following claims by a UK MP that four individuals have obtained an injunction under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005, to prevent allegations being made about them on a blog, is the Chief Minister aware of super injunctions being used in Jersey and, if so, has taxpayers’ money been used to deal with cases under the Data Protection Law which might otherwise be pursued as civil libel and defamation cases?”

The BBC are on Program Cover Up!

Even If the BBC we're in there right to ask this question, do you really think it was the right question to be asking on a nice Fluffy Saturday morning.

BBC Jersey Facebook page.

BBC Jersey

Morning, Chris here. Talking about Jimmy Savile today. More people are making allegations of child abuse against him. BUT is it right to drag all this up now that he's dead and can't defend himself - especially as there are claims it could damage the charities which his legacy benefits?

Silvia A. O. Severim and Robert Paterson like this..

Paul Bentley What about the victims?
Why are we worrying about the perpetrator?
Seems all too often the legal system gets it wrong.
It looks authorities turned a blind eye again, like they did over here for 30 years.

6 hours ago via mobile · 4..

Trevor Richomme There you lot go again push it under the carpet & let's forget it happened. You lot are unbelievable. I'll stop there Chris because you are just winding me up. Why don't you lot just for one minute thing of all those children he abused & the BBC covered UP. Sickening just Sickening.

6 hours ago via mobile · 4..

Retro Barber I don't no how to say this to you nicely, but I will try if you have kids at home look at them and say to them did someone abuse you yesterday well don't worry it was in the past, are you mad get this of your face book page it's the most insulting question you can think of and then go and look for a job as you have no idea

5 hours ago via mobile · 1..

Trevor Richomme The charities are as bad as the cover up merchants, because if it wasn't for them he wouldn't of got away with it. You are as bad as abuse deniers. Sick!!!!

5 hours ago via mobile..

Trevor Richomme Well you are wrong in setting this question & time tell that there is going to be more people with these thoughts then saying to push it under the carpet.

5 hours ago via mobile · 1..

Pam Col because it is said to have happened in the past, does this imply that War Criminals should not be brought to justice after 60 years have past since the war?

5 hours ago · 3..

Paul Bentley I think the BBC , in asking this question, have got it very wrong.
Especially as it looks like they were covering it up.

5 hours ago via mobile · 3..

Trevor Richomme Yes you are right there Paul, the good old BBC have got a lot wrong on child abuse. They have pushed the Government Line over here now for over 4 years that it wasn't as bad as a couple of silly cops were saying & now they are getting proved WRONG. Ware is this going to end. The BBC should start being truthful & not just saying what our Government want them to tell us.

Jon S Haworth Surprised we haven't heard from Noel Edmonds. They used to share Top of the Pops.

BBC Jersey Our question was clumsy, and we are in no way dismissive of abuse victims. Radio Jersey interviewed one of Savile's alleged victims on air this week, and continues to investigate the aspects of the case pertaining to the island. Today on air we looked at the impact of the case on several charities. Jon Gripton, Editor.

Trevor Richomme Well you should not let questions like this be set. How do you think the family in Wales are feeling like this morning, would you say to them it is Historic even tho it was only last Monday. Thank you for the apology.

4 hours ago via mobile · 2..

Jon S Haworth There is a lot more to this story. Why are so many celebrities claiming to have known things yet did nothing? Why didn't the abuse victims made up of middle aged women not spoken sooner? Why do they blag this off by saying it was a different culture at the time? Another issue and this goes for Gary Glitter. Here was a man who was a loner, never settled down with a partner and had no family yet nobody ever looked at that closer? Thos Savile story raises more questions than ever.

3 hours ago · Edited..

Emma Hulme My concern is that everyone should have the right to respond to allegations made and he obviously can't do that. Having said that, I totally agree with the comments above- time is irrelevant and just because they are historical allegations, it doesn't make them any less important. X

2 hours ago via mobile · 1..

Trevor Richomme "why didn't the abuse victims made up of middle aged woman not spoken sooner" because the BBC with this kind of altitude didn't let the the Truth get out & so these young girls were not believed until now. Still the likes of people who come out with these statements as above are doing the same damage as the BBC in saying "we do not need a inquiry". If there was a time to have a COI into child Abuse in jersey is now & with Verita terms of reference, anything less will be point less & the Island of Jersey will have to hang is head in shame!!!!!!

about an hour ago via mobile..

Jon S Haworth Its a shame people seem to get so over excited with child abuse claims still. I think this will hit a dead end because Savile is dead and cant be held to account in any manner or form.

Trevor Richomme Well Jon S Haworth I do not know you & glad I don't. With what you have just said "people seem to get so over excited with child abuse claims" says more about YOU then anything else. If the BBC entertain people like you on this Facebook of there's, it raises more questions about the BBC then anything that they can say to justify letting "clumsy" questions on it or people making offensive comments.

End of conversation.
about an hour ago via mobile · Like

Jon S Haworth Hey I am not saying this is right at all but there is always a lot of excitement when abuse claims appear. Just look at the Media. But think about this, why is there more excitement nowadays compared to Savile's heyday? Was this a cover up? You know it may just be. But can he be held to account? No, and anybody around trying to drag others in will possibly be fobbed off. It's a can of worms BBC but who will be held to account? Nobody I bet!!!!

Janet Street-Porter on Question Time 04/10/12.

Last night on Question Time Janet says abuse was all over the Media World ?
It would of been useless telling any of her bosses & they would of all Known what was going on !

Janet was on with Kenneth Clark, Douglas Alexander, Baroness Kramer & Willie Walsh.
Chaired by David Dimbleby.

You get the feeling that this is bigger then anyone like's to think about. When you think the Two most powerful women in the BBC in the 80s & 90s, Esther Rantzen & Janet Street-Porter didn't say anything even when they new it was more then rumours says a lot about our BBC. What else is not getting told.

Going by what BBC Jersey keeps hidden from the Jersey People about Child Abuse, this is not the BBC that we have grown up to believe that you can Trust, So Sad.
So I've recorded the part when the question about Jimmy Savile was asked. just in case the BBC Pull the episode from the iPlayer. Can't believe I'm thinking that way, but don't know if I will ever Trust them again.

Think I'll start getting my news from the Blogs & Aljazeera from now on.

This is the recording of the question that was asked about Jimmy Savile.

This Link will take you to the BBC iPlayer ware you can watch Question Time from last night again. You will be able to watch it until 11.34pm Friday 04/10/13. The Savile question comes up at 40min 20sec in.
Question Time 04/10/12. Jimmy Savile

Now For Something Completely Different.

I only heard this Interview today, but I will have to say Good Interview Mr Price. You let the person you were interviewing say his side without being on the States side & cutting the person down.

So well done. Thank you.

It makes a change for someone who is Questioning the Government not to be kicked off the Radio or even let on in the first place.

I think I shall carry on if this is the start of a new era of the BBC being fare & balanced. Thank you for the comments.

Mr Norton just wants the Truth.

Have I missed something, but what has happened to Mr Price?

This story I first heard about last year by two different people with there own hang on it. But listening to his story just makes me think "Here's another story that this Government would like to go away" What a Island we live in! I bet they wish they Hanged Him all those years ago!

Carrie Cooper ask's the Questions. First Interview is with Mr Norton's Lawyer.

Now Mr Norton.

Why so many Big Questions over here about evidence going missing?

Now Mr John Hemming MP being interviewed by Simon Jupp, talking about more of the same !!

Cover Ups!

But they the BBC did not play the bit about Super - Injunction ?

Why did they forget to tell us about that ?

Questions without Answers 11/09/12.

Had a few problems with the recordings, I was tiring something new & it did not work out. Sorry.

2.  Deputy S. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Minister for Home
Affairs.

“Will the Minister explain why he has not yet made public the 62,000 word affidavit submitted to the Wiltshire investigation by the former Chief of Police and advise when it will be published?”

4.  The Connétable of St. Mary will ask the following question of the Chairman of Privileges and Procedures.

“Despite advising me in writing on 3rd August that the Committee considered that “a serious breach of the privileges of the Assembly” had occurred, will the Chairman advise why, one month on, the Committee has not even written to Members about the incident and will he confirm the Committee’s stance on this matter and advise how it is championing and defending the privileges of States Members?”

7.  Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Chief Minister.

“Following on from my oral question (7038) of 17th July 2012 can the Chief Minister advise what progress, if any, has been made to review and update the Royal Court (Jersey) Law 1948 to ensure that in future all those being elected as Jurats are of sound character and judgement and to ensure that any Jurat subsequently found to have demonstrated seriously flawed judgement or behaviour can be removed?”

11.  Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier will ask the following question of the Chairman of the Electoral Commission.

“Given the financial cost of promoting genuine public engagement via submissions on the future reform of the States and in light of the concerns I have expressed to the Commission regarding bogus submissions using false identities, can the Chairman advise how many of the submissions made to the Electoral Commission were actually via e-mail with no address to confirm authenticity?”

#FreeJersey: Please Help Us Restore Democracy To Our Beautiful Island.

Today is not a day to focus on right-wing versus left-wing politics, but the difference between right and wrong.

When a democratic government abuses its substantial legal, legislative and financial powers to crack down on journalists’ freedom of speech, force policemen and elected officials from their jobs and systemically dismantle its own checks and balances so as to deny each of its targets due process, clearly it is a government that has lost its way.

Jersey, the jewel in the crown of the Channel Islands, may be one of the world's leading offshore financial centres, but it has begun to use its clout against its own people – and it is keeping the rest of its population in the dark about it. This is now a place where court and legislative records – those that are public anyway – can now be redacted. This is an island where secret trials are now allegedly taking place and elected officials are forced to debate key issues in secret. Web content is banned and journalists booted out. This is not the way a democratic government is supposed to be run.

Again, this is not about politics. It is about standing up for truth, honesty and integrity. It is about restoring the good name of our beautiful island whose reputation has been dragged through the mud by those attempting to cover-up the facts surrounding some of the most heinous crimes known to man – crimes of violence against children. Crimes the vast majority of islanders would never defend, yet most of those who stand accused of committing them have not been brought to justice and continue to walk among us and our children. Worse, these alleged perpetrators remain entrenched in some of the very highest echelons of Jersey’s government – working in departments that focus on children! It is beyond comprehensible.

On an island where children in need of care have been let down by the government for decades – and continue to be let down – we cannot afford to ignore or repeat our mistakes. More broadly, challenging the government’s current decisions, particularly when not made in the best interest of the public, should not require bottomless financial resources and friends in high places. We are supposed to be a democracy, right?

With our checks and balances hamstrung, the international and independent media may be our last chance at reclaiming our democracy and re-establishing rule of law.

Today, Jersey politician Deputy Trevor Pitman launched an e-petition on Change.org in support of the return of U.S. investigative journalist and author, Leah McGrath Goodman, to the island to continue her research into decades of child abuse at Jersey’s state-run “care” homes and allegations of cover-ups in the wake of the government’s removal of the chief of police and shut-down of the entire investigation.

One year ago today, Ms. Goodman was banned from the UK and Jersey for two years after revealing to the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service during a voluntary meeting that she was writing a book on atrocities against children at Haut de la Garenne. According to the UK Border Force, she was flagged by Jersey Immigration authorities for removal upon her next border crossing – and that is exactly what happened. After the intervention of UK Member of Parliament John Hemming, the ban was reduced to one year and it expires today, 11 September 2012. That said, the UK and Jersey have so far declined to restore Ms. Goodman’s visa or allow her cross the border to continue her research. In order to do so safely, she will need to have her Tier -1 visa status fully restored – hence, the reason for Deputy Pitman’s e-petition today.

Leah McGrath Goodman should be permitted to complete her work in order that there is an accurate record based on the available facts and evidence. Jersey needs to confront the failings of its past so it can redress them and, most of all, ensure the safety of our children’s future.

We ask readers who care about the island’s children, who care about the island’s reputation, who believe in a free press and who want the truth to be told to sign Deputy Pitman’s e-petition. We also ask fellow bloggers to copy and paste this blog onto their own Web sites so that we may show the world that Jersey wants the best for its future and its children. It is time to leave our island’s culture of secrecy behind and demand the kind of free and open society our island deserves. Those who would do otherwise are not representative of the majority of islanders.

Please spread the word and sign this petition (ten seconds). The Internet is the one thing Jersey authorities have not been able to lock down.....yet! The petition can be signed HERE

For those who tweet this campaign, please use the #FreeJersey hashtag. While Jersey may try to keep journalists out, it cannot keep us for letting the truth in.

"Don't Question our Government" Say's The BBC !

Matthew Price

These two Interviews are just typical of the standard Interview we get in Jersey, by the world renowned BBC. OK the Reporter is only a Local Hack but he is Radio Jersey's Boss.

I've been getting comments about the style of reporting on our Local Radio Station, about the story that has been breaking in the last couple of weeks. Which has been about the Ex Home Affairs Minister "Andrew Lewis", misleading the States of Jersey in an "In Camera Debate" that happened back on the 8th of December 2008. In which he was telling the States the reasons why he had suspended the Police Chief.

So not exactly a minor story !

But all the BBC can see is that the Report was Leaked to someone that runs a Blog !

Or are they told what angle to go ?

But remember this is the BBC !

So now this week we had two stories early in the morning so if you did not here them then you probably  wont here them. But I did & couldn't believe the way that the Boss of BBC Radio Jersey, Matthew Price was interviewing these people who sounded a lot more intelligent then him. These interviews couldn't of been done better by a Government Aid.

So Don't say anything against our Government, because you'll get the BBC treatment of Ridicule, Contempt  of your profession & smugness.

People are asking were's Roger Barra gone, well he's a bit better. But he's probably had enough of getting told how to do his JOB by our States.

See what you think, its not just me because people commented on my Blog this morning about it.

This Interview was yesterday 17/07/12. around 07.25 Jim Diamond saying he got it Right on the costs of taking on  the British Government over LVCR.

This Interview was this morning 18/07/12. around 08.22. Tim Jones talking about Vulture Funds & Jersey letting it happen!

Surely this is not right. Our Ministers don't get this kind of grilling.

Then towards the end of yesterdays program, after not one person on with the opposite view to his own. He brings on a Family Friend to get some Self Praise. Just Cringe Worthy to the point of being SICK. You just couldn't make it up.
